A devastating crash occurred on Sunday night in Cumberland County, resulting in the loss of one life and serious injuries to three individuals, according to officials.
The incident took place at 9:55 p.m. on Route 670 in Fairfield Township. State troopers rushed to the scene where a westbound Honda veered off the roadway and collided with two trees, as reported by Tpr. Troy McNair.
Regrettably, the crash proved fatal for a passenger identified as Hartley Pernell, a 60-year-old resident of Bridgeton.
The driver, a 57-year-old woman from Millville, suffered “serious” injuries, as confirmed by McNair. Two other passengers, a 43-year-old woman from Bridgeton and a 45-year-old man from Berlin, sustained moderate injuries.
Emergency responders promptly transported all three injured individuals to a local hospital, although no information about their current conditions was available at the time of the report.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are currently under investigation, as authorities work to determine the factors that led to this tragic incident.
