Having competed professionally in the minors and independent leagues, including a brief stint with the Phillies’ roster in 2022, Singer brings a wealth of experience to the coaching arena. Despite a unique career path, the 30-year-old southpaw is now dedicated to sharing his knowledge and skills with aspiring pitchers in Cherry Hill.
Originally from Cinnaminson, Singer spent his offseasons honing his craft and coaching local athletes. Now, through his venture, 1-1 Pitching, he offers individual lessons tailored to each pitcher’s needs, along with personalized arm care to ensure optimal performance and injury prevention.
Singer’s journey to professional baseball was anything but conventional. After attending Holy Cross Preparatory Academy in Delran, he played collegiate baseball at Gloucester County College, Monmouth University, and Rutgers-Camden. Despite going undrafted in the MLB Draft of 2015, Singer’s determination led him to sign with the Camden Riversharks, a professional independent-league team.
In October 2015, Singer inked a minor-league contract with the Phillies, embarking on a six-year journey through various levels of the organization’s farm system. His hard work and dedication paid off when he earned a promotion to the majors in April 2022, albeit for just one game, marking a memorable milestone in his career.
Despite facing setbacks and challenges along the way, including stints with independent-league teams like the Kansas City Monarchs and the Spire City Space Hounds, Singer remains steadfast in his commitment to helping pitchers achieve their full potential.
