Following an impressive performance on the field, Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter took a break from the gridiron to create lasting memories for 10 local children in Cherry Hill.
In a heartwarming surprise on Tuesday, Carter made an appearance at DICK’S Sporting Goods in Cherry Hill, where each child from the Olney Eagles—a youth football program based in North Philadelphia’s Olney neighborhood—received a generous $150 gift card. Carter, known for his standout season with four sacks, 27 tackles, and two forced fumbles, played the role of a shopping consultant, guiding the youngsters through the store.
DICK’S Sporting Goods organized this event as part of its commitment to inspiring and facilitating youth sports participation in the community.
Carter’s recent standout plays on the field, including returning a fumble for a touchdown in the Eagles’ game against the Cowboys, have positioned him as a top contender for the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.
In a parallel initiative, Eagles Pro Bowler Haason Reddick took part in a festive holiday event for children in Camden. Held at the city’s Adventure Aquarium, Reddick, a Camden native, shared a meal with the kids and their families. The attendees enjoyed a tour of the aquarium and engaged in holiday-themed activities, culminating in the distribution of gifts to the children.
These community-focused events showcase the Eagles’ commitment to making a positive impact off the field, spreading joy and creating special moments for local youth during the holiday season.
