A new cat café is coming to Collingswood, according to a report by **Josh Bakan for Patch**. The business, called **Hissy Hut**, plans to open at **647 Haddon Ave.** and will combine a café experience with space for cats, giving visitors a place to relax and interact with adoptable animals.

The upcoming café is being launched by **Amy Hitchner**, who told Patch she has long wanted to create a cat café in South Jersey. The concept will offer drinks and snacks in one area, while a separate lounge will allow guests to spend time with cats. Hitchner said the goal is to create a welcoming environment for both animal lovers and potential adopters.

According to the Patch report, the cats at Hissy Hut will come through a partnership with a rescue organization, helping connect animals in need of homes with members of the community. Hitchner said she hopes the business will provide a unique local gathering place while also supporting adoption efforts.

The café is still in development, and Hitchner told Patch she is working through the process needed before opening. While an exact opening date was not finalized in the report, the project represents a new addition to Collingswood’s local business scene and a new destination for cat enthusiasts in the area.

The idea of cat cafés has grown in popularity in many communities, blending food and beverage service with animal interaction in a controlled setting. In Collingswood, Hissy Hut aims to bring that model to Haddon Avenue while supporting rescue cats and offering a different kind of neighborhood experience.
