It’s with a heavy heart that we share some news about a local favorite – Charlie’s Crepes in Merchantville. This beloved crepe shop, known for its delectable sweet and savory creations, is preparing to close its doors in the coming months.

On December 17, they will serve their last crepe, marking the end of an era that began in 2015 when Charlie’s started selling their scrumptious crepes at local farmers’ markets. Their journey reached new heights when they became a part of Collingswood’s market and, eventually, opened a brick-and-mortar store in 2018, becoming a cherished destination for many.

This decision to close isn’t taken lightly. The owner, Charles Koory, expressed the challenges Charlie’s Crepes has faced, emphasizing the financial instability that comes with running a small business. To give you some perspective, one day could bring in $300 in sales, while the next might only see $90. The unpredictability of a fluctuating income makes running a business like Charlie’s Crepes all the more challenging.

As they prepare to say goodbye, Charlie’s Crepes has made some changes to their operating hours:

  • Wednesday through Friday: 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The weekend brunch hours will remain the same, ensuring that loyal patrons can savor one last brunch experience. Previously, the eatery had also been open in the late afternoon and evening from Wednesday through Friday, but these hours have been adjusted.

If you’ve had the pleasure of experiencing Charlie’s Crepes or if you’re seeking a memorable culinary adventure, don’t miss your final opportunity to indulge in their delightful crepes. Visit their location at 177 S Centre St., Merchantville, before they bid farewell on December 17.
