Bruce Makley, a resident of Voorhees in Camden County, has been sentenced to 80 months in prison for the possession of child pornography, announced U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger.
The 68-year-old Makley had previously pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography before U.S. District Judge Robert B. Kugler. His sentencing took place in Camden federal court on Wednesday.
Court documents reveal that on August 14, 2020, law enforcement agents executed a search warrant at Makley’s residence. During this search, Makley confessed to possessing over 600 images of child sexual abuse. This included images depicting sadistic or masochistic conduct, as well as other depictions of violence, sexual abuse, or exploitation involving infants and toddlers, according to Sellinger.
In addition to the prison term, Bruce Makley has been sentenced to 10 years of supervised release. He has also been ordered to pay $152,000 in restitution.
This sentencing serves as a reminder of the legal consequences and penalties associated with the possession of child pornography, emphasizing the commitment of law enforcement agencies to combatting such crimes.
