According to **Josh Bakan of Patch**, the Battleship New Jersey is set to receive **$24 million in upgrades** aimed at preserving and improving the historic Camden waterfront museum and memorial. The funding will support a range of major repair and restoration efforts on the ship, which is one of South Jersey’s most well-known attractions.

The planned work includes upgrades to key areas of the vessel, such as **the fantail, superstructure, captain’s cabin, and admiral’s cabin**, along with other restoration and preservation projects. The improvements are intended to help maintain the ship’s long-term condition while also enhancing the visitor experience.

As reported by Bakan, officials said the funding comes through the **New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ Cultural and Arts Facilities Expansion program**. The Battleship New Jersey has undergone other large-scale preservation efforts in recent years, and this latest investment continues those efforts to protect the ship for future generations.

The Battleship New Jersey serves as both a **museum and memorial**, drawing visitors to Camden and standing as an important historic landmark in the region. Supporters of the project say the upgrades will help preserve the vessel’s legacy while keeping it accessible to the public.
