The battleship, which hadn’t left her berth in Camden for decades before this year, required essential maintenance that ships typically need every 20 years. The last time USS New Jersey dry-docked was in the early 1990s, long before she became a museum ship in 2001.
USS New Jersey will start her journey back home on June 14, departing from the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard to the Paulsboro Marine Terminal. After six days of ballast work, she’ll sail to Camden on June 20.
The Battleship New Jersey Museum & Memorial is offering 15 tickets for each leg of the journey, totaling 30 tickets. Each trip will last a few hours, giving attendees an unparalleled experience. Click here for tickets.
For those who find $5,000 a bit steep, attending the ship’s return celebration in Camden is much more affordable: $10 for general admission and free for children under 12.
