Four years after a devastating fire destroyed its original location, Classic Cake is set to re-open in Cherry Hill.
The beloved bakery is putting the final touches on its new store at the Short Hills Shopping Center (486 Evesham Rd.). The grand re-opening celebration is scheduled for Wednesday. Customers eager to get a sneak peek at the new space can contact Classic Cake for pickup orders in the meantime.
The bakery, along with several other businesses, was destroyed in a fire at the strip mall in March 2020 — just weeks before COVID-19 restrictions began in New Jersey, adding to the turmoil for many local businesses.
After the fire, Classic Cake temporarily operated out of the Short Hills Deli, another business in the shopping center that closed in late 2021. The bakery maintained that location through 2022 before taking orders without a retail storefront.
The new store will have the following hours:
- Tuesday through Saturday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Sunday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Monday: Closed
