A blossoming addition to the cannabis retail landscape, Gynsyng, opened its doors on Friday in the vicinity of Cherry Hill. Situated at 14 S Centre St., Merchantville, this woman-owned recreational dispensary offers a unique experience just blocks away from Cherry Hill’s border with Merchantville.
While Cherry Hill deliberates on the inclusion of cannabis businesses within its boundaries, Gynsyng joins MPX NJ in Pennsauken as the second dispensary just outside the township. Jana Murzenski, the majority owner of Gynsyng, is not only a professional baby photographer but also a passionate advocate for alternative medicines and cannabis accessibility.
Born in East Germany, Murzenski shares her personal journey, highlighting the lack of alternative medicines in her home country. Thrilled to bridge the gap and offer adult-use cannabis products, she emphasizes the positive impact cannabis has had on individuals, including her best friend’s son, who battles epilepsy. According to Murzenski, THC has played a significant role in helping him gain control over his seizures.
Occupying a 5,400-square-foot space that once housed a pharmacy, Gynsyng provides a welcoming environment for cannabis enthusiasts. The dispensary offers 13 on-site parking spots and additional convenience with a free municipal lot located across the street. While currently in-store purchases are available, Gynsyng plans to introduce curbside pickup and delivery services in the coming weeks.
With 12 dispensaries, Camden County boasts the highest number of cannabis retail establishments in New Jersey. Although Cherry Hill presently restricts cannabis business zoning, local officials have expressed interest in exploring possibilities for integrating the industry into the township, signaling potential developments in the near future. As Gynsyng emerges as a new player in the cannabis scene, it brings with it a commitment to promoting health and wellness through cannabis access.
