A fresh chapter is about to unfold in Pennsauken as the iconic Penn Queen Diner, which graced the community for 58 years, will pave the way for exciting new additions—Tim Hortons and Taco Bell.
The revered Penn Queen Diner closed its doors in May 2022, marking the end of an era. However, the closure signals the beginning of a new era with the forthcoming construction of Tim Hortons and Taco Bell, accompanied by the addition of a retail building on the premises located at 7377 N Crescent Blvd.
Taco Bell is slated to occupy an impressive 2,722 square feet, while Tim Hortons, Canada’s premier coffee restaurant chain, will have a 1,610-square-foot space. Both establishments will feature dual drive-thrus, enhancing the convenience for patrons.
In addition to these culinary giants, developers have plans for a 1,750-square-foot retail space on the site, though details about its future tenant remain undisclosed.
The approval process for this exciting development saw positive outcomes, with Pennsauken’s Zoning Board granting approval on November 1, following a decision on September 30 for memorialization.
Tim Hortons, with its roots firmly established as Canada’s leading coffee destination, made its South Jersey debut in November 2021 with the opening of the Stratford location. The expansion continues with an upcoming Tim Hortons in Cinnaminson, contributing to the chain’s impressive portfolio of 5,300 locations, predominantly situated in Canada. Tim Hortons is renowned for its diverse menu, encompassing coffee, doughnuts, sandwiches, and more.
As for Taco Bell, the renowned fast-food chain is set to make a significant impact on the Pennsauken culinary scene, bringing its unique flavor and menu offerings. Notably, Taco Bell’s former Pennsauken eatery on Route 73 has permanently closed, making way for this exciting new venture.
