Atlantic City, New Jersey — The resplendent beaches, inviting waters, and bustling boardwalk of Atlantic City bore witness to an awe-inspiring spectacle as the 2023 Visit Atlantic City Airshow took center stage. The triumphant event, presented by the Greater Atlantic City Chamber, Visit Atlantic City, and David Schultz Airshows, spanned two days, August 15 (Practice Day) and August 16 (Show Day). Marking its 20th year in Atlantic City, the Visit Atlantic City Airshow continues to stand as the world’s premier midweek beachfront airshow. This year’s edition welcomed a staggering 485,000 attendees, creating an unforgettable experience for residents and visitors alike.

Overcoming challenges posed by fluctuating weather conditions, the event was an extraordinary success, captivating nearly half a million individuals. Greater Atlantic City Chamber President Michael Chait and Visit Atlantic City Airshow Director remarked, “Despite some challenges and delays due to changing weather conditions, we still drew nearly a half a million people to our city’s beaches and Boardwalk for this event, which is quite extraordinary.”

An interesting twist to this year’s show was the unprecedented number of watercraft present in the ocean and back bays, offering spectators a unique perspective to enjoy the mesmerizing aerobatics and maneuvers from the water. The 20th-anniversary celebrations of the Visit Atlantic City Airshow were marked by this remarkable turnout, leaving attendees with lasting memories and high spirits.

Larry Sieg, President and CEO of Visit Atlantic City, expressed his satisfaction with the event’s success, saying, “The 2023 Visit Atlantic City Airshow was once again a major success. This free, signature event continues to be the most important event of the year for us in Atlantic City.”

The captivating lineup featured an impressive blend of military and civilian acts, showcasing talents such as the U.S. Army Golden Knights, U.S.A.F. Thunderbirds, U.S. Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier Demo Team, and local 177th Fighter Wing of the N.J. Air National Guard, among others.

The event commenced with Practice Day on August 15, a day before the Show Day. This year’s Practice Day witnessed the largest estimated attendance to date, with an estimated 150,000 to 200,000 people gathering on the Atlantic City beaches and Boardwalk to witness the remarkable aerial displays.

Michael Chait shared insights into this year’s unique approach, stating, “We are always trying to find new ways for the public to experience the Airshow – this year, we really wanted to highlight Practice Day as an alternative to Show Day. It gives folks a chance to experience the thrills and watch the performances with far less crowds on the beaches and Boardwalk of Atlantic City.”

The Visit Atlantic City Airshow is a collaborative effort involving several entities, including the Greater Atlantic City Chamber, Visit Atlantic City, the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, the City of Atlantic City, and various other esteemed partners.

Michael Chait extended gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event, emphasizing, “There are so many individuals, partners, and entities that make the Atlantic City Airshow a success year after year.”
